Judge Kenya M. Johnson
Kenya M. Johnson currently serves as the elected Chief Judge of the Probate Court of Fulton County. Formerly a career Prosecutor, she focused on restorative justice initiatives, youth violence prevention and improving community & police relations.
As the Chief Probate Judge in Georgia’s largest county, Judge Johnson’s mission is to educate communities about estate planning and generational wealth and to make probate services more assessable to communities in need. In just her first term in office, Judge Kenya fused technology, funding resources and community outreach programming to serve and improve the lives of over 1 million Fulton County citizens. In 2023, Judge Johnson won Probate Judge of the Year by the Association of County Officials and the Rising Star Award by the Probate Judges’ Council of Georgia. In 2021, Judge Johnson founded the Judicial Fellowship Institute, a summer clerkship program for minority law students to apprentice with minority judges.
In 2024, Judge Johnson conducted over 3,000 marriage ceremonies and provided over 250 wills through free community law clinics with volunteer attorneys. Judge Johnson lives in South Fulton county with her husband and is a parent of two college students.
