Judge Marian Parker
Marian Parker, currently serving as Fulton County’s Associate Probate Judge, brings a wealth of legal experience to her role. Her responsibilities include overseeing adult guardianship and conservatorship matters, minor guardianship and conservatorship, and minor doubtful claims and conservatorship divisions. She trains staff and court vendors, including contract hearing officers, court-appointed attorneys, county conservators, evaluators, and guardian ad litems.

Marian Parker has been a prominent presenter at numerous conferences, where she shares her unique insights on probate topics such as wills, estates, charitable estate planning, guardianship, and conservatorship matters. Her expertise, honed through years of practice and study, and is further underscored by her active membership in several civic service organizations, including the Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys (GABWA), Georgia Association of African American Attorneys (GAAAA)- Judicial Member At-Large, Gate City Bar Association (GCBA) -secretary of the Judicial Section, National Bar Association, and United Way Volunteer Improvement Program (VIP).

Marian Parker’s commitment to the legal profession is unwavering. She earned her bachelor’s degree in English-Pre-Law from Xavier University, graduating cum laude, and then pursued her law degree from Thurgood Marshall University School of Law. Her dedication is further demonstrated by her admission to practice before state, federal, and appellate courts in Illinois, Georgia, and Louisiana.

Marian Parker’s legal career began as an attorney at the Office of the Public Guardian in Chicago, Illinois. Here, she worked in litigation and legislation, was a lobbyist, and made significant contributions to the field. In addition to her legal work, Marian has served as a judge, coach, and facilitator for mock trials for law, college, and high school students, instilling in them the values of faimess and justice. She has also written numerous legal resource guides and nonprofit materials on charitable estate planning and other legal topics, demonstrating her commitment to legal education and excellence.
